Dark in the light and light in the dark

Based on the work from the following artist and its work:

Joseph Wright of Derby, An Experiment on a Bird in the Air Pump, Oil on Canas, 1768, 

I got inspired by the details of his work, and therefore, I chose to replace certain parts with important family members o mine. Can you find them? Why did I got inspired? My aim was to combine the past with the present and provide an eye for future works to come. Without the past we would not be here with all the knowledge we gained from previous talented human beings. Thank you!
