Patterns of Thought

Leigh Rowles - Australia

Patterns of Thought is one painting of a series, The Thought Series, whereby each painting expresses, in abstract form, multitudinous aspects of 'thought'.

This multilayered, highly textured, and detailed work, ultimately expresses the universal bond of our emotional spectrum - the peaks and troughs, happiness and sorrows, hopes and fears - that, although emanating from our emotions, are defined by 'thought'.

(While conditioned emotional responses are often believed to be wholly and simply spontaneous physiological reactions, so too, in many cases, our response to life's experiences in general may be deliberately 'rethought': e.g. 'the way we perceive things' - 'a glass half full or half empty').

This abstract work follows 'patterns of thought' - from first thought, to its ultimate destination. Between these points, the 'journey of thought' is influenced and informed by individual, yet universal, Life Experience.

The vitality of the work offers positivity, freedom, hope, happiness, and salvation, all of which can be the 'results of thought' in response to the underpinning Life Forces that trigger 'thought' itself.

Patterns of Thought, ultimately offers a visual expression of the way in which art can enrich humanity via the universal bond of empathy and love.
