A Good Cuppa

The tantalizing aroma of a fresh coffee takes visual life in this vibrant, mixed media piece.  Originally a scribble exercise, the shapes soon took on the form of tendrils of steam rising above a raised cup of coffee.  Color was blocked out with alcohol markers before being built up with layer upon layer of oil-based colored pencil to create complex and vivid colors.
