‘Van Gogh’

Based on Van Gogh’s ’87 self portrait 

This was a project my brother and I worked on earlier this year. I love Van Gogh, his art, and his story. Over the course of 6 weeks i put all the pieces together while the clay was still wet to get as tight a fit as possible. I then slowly, very slowly, dried it over the course of a month. After that I placed it in the kiln and said a little prayer that it would survive.
