Pyre (2022) is an interpretation of a funeral rite to process the loss of natural habitats and destruction due to climate change. The audio is original sound produced by un-interleaving recordings of a piano, and re-interleaving. The un-interleaving was done by saving audio as raw data, and importing into Photoshop Camera Raw. Since the file is a RAW file, Photoshop is able to open the file with the parameter "uninterleaved." The file was then saved as an interleaved TIFF file and imported into Adobe Audition as raw sound data. Video footage taken of a wood pile burning was laid over stock footage of Californian Redwoods to create a processional through a burning landscape.
