Kinder surprises on canvas.

as an artist i use vintage toys known to everybody and give them a second life (upcycling). For this collection i only used Ferrero's kinder surprises egg toys from the eighties and nineties which are collectibles nowadays. Composed by more or less 3500 of them

Purpose and meaning : 

The onlookers dive right back into childhood. We all had a kinder egg in our hand, we all shook it wondering what we are going to get. So my painting/sculpture bring back nostalgia, and all sort of feeling reemerge.

By using those toys I'm recycling but I also want to give a voice to all the invisible hand who shapes those toys because they were, back then, painted by hands...

it's also Popart since it's based on modern popular culture and the mass media by pointing out the mass consumption aspect of our society which the concept of kinder surprise egg directly refers.. 

By gluing them to one another, it also reflect our society. All hanging on each other struggling to affirm their singularity.. striving to be seen. rare are those who rise above the others.. all unique and all the same as the same time.
