I am currently in an artistic endeavour where my main goal is to approach the theme of the Anthropocene, an unofficial, yet academically utilized term to describe a geological epoch when human activities started to cause dramatic changes to Earth's geology, climate, and species. As a biophiliac and anti-speciesist person, I indeed feel very connected to nature and I consider urgent to tackle, artistically or by any other means, the topic of climate change, extinction of species, consumerism, among many others, in order to bring all of these into the public debate. To address these issues, I make use of different approaches such as creating my own papers and pigments out of elements available in my permaculture garden. I also employ techniques such as photography, video art, painting, caricature, slam poetry, and photomontage. These disciplines sometimes intertwin to create a creative discourse aiming at bringing attention to the dramatic situations aforementioned. The world is indeed full of reports warning us against all of that but, in my opinion, art has the power to make us value our blue planet, in ways scientific data cannot. Science speaks to the brain while art speaks to the heart.
