Luz
"Dar a Luz" in Spanish means to give birth and, in turn, is the opposite of darkness.
In this work the dress and the mutilated body represent the interval between the
possible and the impossible, between life, giving birth, and the death of a mutilated
body. The white color, the skirt and the elegant shawl together with the delicate
hands with their nails painted red, accentuate the beauty of the mother, giver of
life, in a wounded body deprived of the possibility of giving birth and of "giving
light", illuminating others...
Belly light, lacerated light,
elegant walks nailed to the wall,
Today is not your day,
tomorrow either,
Futures and pasts so uncertain and untrue,
as Light in the present.
“Dar a Luz” en español significa parir y a su vez, luz es el opuesto de oscuridad. En
esta obra el vestido y el cuerpo mutilado, representan el intervalo entre lo posible y
lo imposible, entre la vida, dar a luz y la muerte de un cuerpo mutilado. El color
blanco, la falda y el elegante chal junto a las delicadas manos con sus uñas
pintadas de rojo, acentúan la belleza de la mujer madre, dadora de vida, en un
cuerpo herido y privado de la posibilidad de dar a luz y de “dar luz”, iluminando a
los demás...
Luz de vientre, luz lacerada,
elegante camina clavada en el muro,
hoy no es tu día,
mañana tampoco,
Futuros y pasados tan inciertos,
como la Luz en el presente.
“Dar a Luz” in spagnolo significa far nascere e, a sua volta, la luce è il contrario
dell'oscurità. In quest'opera il vestito e il corpo mutilato rappresentano l'intervallo
tra il possibile e l'impossibile, tra la vita, la nascita e la morte di un corpo mutilato.
Il colore bianco, la gonna e l'elegante scialle insieme alle delicate mani con le
unghie dipinte di rosso, accentuano la bellezza della donna madre, dispensatrice di
vita, in un corpo ferito e privato della possibilità di partorire e di "dare luce",
illuminando gli altri...
Luce del ventre, luce lacerata,
elegante cammina inchiodata al muro,
oggi non è il tuo giorno,
neanche domani,
Futuri e passati così incerti,
come la Luce nel presente.
